The Sierra Nonprofit Services values local nonprofits and the people who staff, volunteer, and direct the growth of these organizations.  We believe that empowered and strengthened nonprofit agencies can best serve the needs of the community.  When the needs of the communities are met, we create an environment for thriving activities, excellent services, and healthy community members.

The Sierra Nonprofit Services values diversity in work styles, leadership methods, creativity, and talent to promote the growth of the nonprofit sector in the region we serve.  Our differences give us added value in each agency and our commonalities promote effective community services for citizens.

The Sierra Nonprofit Services is a regional resource and values networking with other nonprofits to promote collaboration and effective use of regional resources.  Our success depends on our growth and service to assist nonprofits in achieving their goals, expanding their funding, and gaining expertise while increasing their capacity to serve the community.

Support Staff

Executive Director, Donna Wilson

Donna Wilson is a consultant whose professional experience includes 20 years designing and implementing training and development in government, business, and nonprofit organizations.
 
As Executive Director of the Sierra NonProfit Support Center she has collaborated with community organizations in designing board retreats, and community building programs focused on holistic growth and change. In addition, she has facilitated research for the many individuals and groups combing the Foundation Center Cooperating Collection in search of grant sources.
 
She is passionate about building teamwork and networking groups. For this she has created The Manager's Forum as a community building project of the Sierra NonProfit Support Center.
 
Representing Sonora Area Foundation and the Packard Foundation, Donna has  worked in association with Jill Janov and Peter Block in the School for Managing and Leading Change.  She is a certificated instructor for BoardSource, the National Center for NonProfit Boards, and has certified with Leadership Center West as a facilitator for DiaLogic a team communication program. Donna?s educational background includes an MS in Human Resource and Organization Development (USF 1998) with an emphasis on learning organizations. She is presently working on a certification through The Coaches Training Institute.
